Visiting Florence.. you will find some of the most beautiful churches


Walking through the streets of the city will be able to discover or rediscover the most beautiful churches ranging from Gothic to Renaissance, the roman-gothic, in whose inside you can admire masterpieces of art.

                                                    Church of Santa Maria Novella

The church dates back between 1246 and 1360 and has, outside, the style is Romanesque with white and green marble (1470) work of Alberti while inside the style is Gothic, the ancient Dominican Basilica was redesigned at the end of 1200, in Romanesque Gothic style. Inside the church you can admire masterpieces as crucifixes by Giotto and Brunelleschi, Masaccio's Trinity, Renaissance pictorial cycles of Ghirlandaio and Filippino Lippi. In the sacristy are restored Crucifix by Giotto for the Convent, in the Cloister frescoes are visible in the green earth, by Paolo Uccello.

                                                      St Mark's Church

The church has a beautiful facade, for Cosimo II Vecchio, in 1437, the church and the monastery was rebuilt by Michelozzo and decorations to Beato Angelico and collaborators, in 1777 became the façade in neo-classical style. In its interior can admire the large crucifix (1355) school of Orcagna, the Transfiguration (1596) by Giovanni Battista Paggi, the Crucifix by Beato Angelico and beautiful decorations by various authors. Next to the church you can visit the Museum of the Convent of San Marco with many masterpieces of art.

                                         Church of Santa Maria in Fiore Florence Cathedral

The church was built over the remains of the church of Santa Reparata, is the third largest church in the world after St. Peter's in Rome and St. Paul's in London, and was dedicated in 1412 in Santa Maria del Fiore, perhaps alluding to the Florentine lily symbol of Florence.                                                       Church of San Lorenzo

                                                       Church of the Holy Spirit
